There are multiple thoughts out there about what self care is, what it means, and what it SHOULD be.
And the majority of those thoughts are simply not true.
Consumer self care ie, massages, spa time, a get away with friends, retail therapy or a night in for you may make you feel better in the moment, but it won’t change things for you long term.
We must decide what we want self care to mean for us–and what we accept as a norm.
Sara Roach Lewis is a successful female business owner, mom and entrepreneur. She has also battled a chronic illness most of her career and as a result has had to ‘redefine’ what her core belief and value was, so she could better define what self care strategy would allow her to show up and exist as the best version of herself.
It’s always the little things that matter the most in how we stay consistent. In fact, the ‘one thing’ we choose, turns into the non-negotiable we need that will work for us.
